All hands on deck for PHD Bahamas as Hurricane warnings are in full effect.

Our teams in the Bahamas have been working round the clock in securing our clients contracts and bracing themselves for Hurricane Irma.

The hurricane is rated as a “potentially catastrophic” Category 5, and barreling toward the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Southern Florida. Winds of up to 185 m.p.h are expected. The northern Leeward Islands were expected to see waves as high as 11 feet, while the Turks and Caicos Islands and southeastern Bahamas could see towering 20-foot waves later in the week, forecasters said.

Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said his government was evacuating the six islands in the south because authorities would not be able to help anyone caught in the “potentially catastrophic” wind, flooding and storm surge. People there would be flown to Nassau in what he called the largest storm evacuation in the country’s history.
